I was browsing through the many great genealogy blogs on Geneabloggers and came across the Irish Genealogy News blog. As the name implies, this genealogy blog focuses on Irish Genealogy. They post quite often averaging more than one blog post per day in 2012. Some of the recent blog posts I liked included;
These were just a few of the many wonderful and informative blog posts. They quite often point out new databases regarding Irish Genealogy which have come on-line.
If you have any Irish ancestors, be sure to check out this blog.

Do you like looking at old photoos? Do you like hearing about an old photo being reunited with an ancestor? If you said yes to either question, then the Family Photo Reunion is one blog your going to like visiting. The blog posts a new partially identified photo every couple days or so. The photos are identified with a first and/or a last name and sometimes a location. Trying to identify whose ancestor it is, is a lot easier than with just a completely unknown photo.
The photos are date from the early 1860s up until around 1920 or so. There are carte-de-visite, cabinet cards and post card photos. One recent photo I like in particular is “Girl in a Pretty Dress and Bow, Mildred Leopold, Savannah, Georgia, Circa 1904-1914″. It was posted on Monday, November 12, 2012.
Stop by the blog and browse through the old photos, perhaps your ancestor’s photo is waiting for it to be found.

The Smoky Mountain Family Historian blog has been around since 2004 and there are quite a number of really good posts written. There are posts nearly every day about a variety of subjects. However, it is a little difficult to find blog posts about a particular subject. I’ve just browsed through their archives looking for posts of interest to me.
Here are a couple of posts I found to be an interesting read;

Tips for Catalogging Your Books
A lot of the posts are about reviewing genealogy or history related books that are out on the market place today. Other’s have to do with the writer’s personal research.

Christmas Genealogy Gift Idea: Get the genealogist in your life a new book on genealogy.
The Legal Genealogist is a blog I stumbled upon a little while ago. There seems to be a new blog post nearly every day. The main focus of most of the blogs as you might guess, is about the legal side of genealogy. There are about a dozen or so categories of posts including (copyright, court cases, legal definitions, statutes and more). I have enjoyed reading many of their posts and will continue to read them regularly. Stop by and read them for yourselves. CAUTION, you may find yourself on this website for quite a while reading through their archives.
