My great aunt Ruth (Laurie) (Stedman) Smith lived to be 99 years old. Funeral cards can be a great resource. I’ve even seen photos on some funeral cards as early as 1923.
HELP, I’m trying to reconnect with descendants of Michael Doyle. I believe they may still be in Ireland.

1) Michael Doyle is my great uncle. He was born 10-Oct-1873 and was the son of John Doyle and Esther O’Rourke. He grew up in the townland of Carrick Slavin. He married Bridget, who’s last name is unknown to me.
Michael and Bridget had two children. Their names were Mary and John.
2) Mary married Dennis O’Brien. Dennis and Mary had two children. Their names were Dennis Jr. and Michael. I do not know if Dennis Jr. or Michael married.
2) John married Eileen. John and Eileen had four children. Their names were John, Eileen, Maureen and Michael. I do not know if any of the children married or had children of their own.
Esther O’Rourke was born in about 1850. She was married to John Doyle in Ireland in about 1870 – 1871. They eventually went on to have at least twelve children. Most of these children immigrated to the United States and ended up in Bristol, CT, though a few stayed behind. She died on the very same day that my Aunt Martha Fox (Esther’s granddaughter) was born.
This is the only picture I have of her. We lost contact with the Doyle’s who lived in Ireland sometime during the 1990s. She must have been a formidable woman. Her husband died in about 1896 and she raised her children on her own and never re-married.
